Hi there,

What a great website! My mothers maiden name is Lugg and I have traced my whole Lugg side back to St Keverne. My Great great grandfather was born there and I can go back 8 generations more all born in St Keverne (I can go back as far as 1500's - Elys Lugg).

Do you know of any Lugg family in St Keverne still? I have read that some have the family tree.

Hello!

Thanks so much for this resource which has taken a lot of hard work. It's so appreciative, & I know I'm not the only one who thinks so.

My family from this area is the Caleb Knowles family, & Benjamin (known commonly as Ben) was my grandfather. I have a picture that my dad & I are pretty sure is of Ben's parents - Charles & Jane (nee Coad). Is there a place where I'd be able to upload it so that I could possibly get confirmation of this?

I'm enjoying going through the archives, &, again, thank-you for all your hard work. :smile:

Enjoy your website and just have one comment as my link to St Keverne are the jenkin's and Tripcony's.
In the article in reference to the Methodists, your comment about the birth of William Jenkin 1757 I believed he died as Grace the mother had another son William 1761

Great website. I have been trying to find out anything about Saint Keverne the person, not the place. They do not appear in any recognisable version of the name on various Cornish saints lists. Was there ever such a person?

What a brilliant website - thank you SO MUCH. I've managed to track my KEVERNE family (so many ways of spelling that!) back in the late 1500s - early 1600s before they moved to Paul. I'd spent hours painfully browsing through the PRs on Ancestry, only to find you'd transcribed them - wonderful. Keep up the good work. PS Where is Churchtown?

Hi Your site is excellent, I am researching my family in Co Tyrone in Northern Ireland and cannot find where they came from. Cheevers/Chevers, I have got back to 1803 but have become stuck, I wonder does any of your records assist. I am looking for a Francis Cheever/Chever who may have come across from England in and around the 1710-1803. Any help would be appreciated. I know that there are a lot of Cheevers/Chevers in Ireland from the 12th century but I cannot find a link and my family think we only came here in and around that time period.

Wonderful site! I am a descendent of William Foxwell and Ann Harris of Mullion. My great-great grandfather William was involved in the wreck of the Anson Frigate. My brother and I will be coming to Cornwall the end of April for our first time, and are trying to gather any history in advance of the trip. We are also striving to find any relatives who might still be in the area, as much of the family, as we understand it, moved to Wisconsin, Iowa, and the east coast of the US. Greatly looking forward to our trip!

Last year with the help of a marvelous researcher that I found on the Cornwall OPC site, I have discovered my grandfather William Tom who survived the Barque John disaster at age 17, while his sister Mary Philp Tom (actually 25, not 21 at the time) perished and is buried in your church graveyard. My grandfather went home to Blisland but eventually emigrated to Quebec, then Ontario in 1871 and had 4 children. My father was born in 1887. He also married late, hence the long generations. He was 14 when his parents died but often told me of a ship disaster and the loss of his aunt, which helped solve the mystery of my grandfather. I hope to visit in May and will be sure to see St Keverne!
