Comments: My father, the organist and broadcaster Dudley Savage MBE, gave several concerts at St Keverne during his lifetime. He was a son of Cornwall, being born at Gulval, Penzance. I am currently researching his life for a booklet and was delighted to come across mention of his visit to present TV's "Songs of Praise" back in 1968. What a fascinating website you have produced. Congratulations and many thanks.

Comments: thank you for the comprehensive reports on the wreck of the barque "John" in 1855". Two brothers of my Gt.Gt.Grandfather were passengers, one with his wife and three daughters. Only one survived, tragically to be killed a few years later in a workplace accident in Plymouth.

Comments: This is a thankyou to Bernard Rogers, Rosenithon Family H.Q., who posted a family history in 1997. It is now June 2011 and having recently retired I am starting to research my paternal grandmother's family and find I am the g.g.g. grandaughter of Ursula and Sampson Rodgers. Their daughter Ursula married John Whitford at St.Keverne in 1830 and they migrated to Australia in 1841. Their daughter Emily married John Page Ducker in 1858 in NSW, and my grandmother was their sixth child. She married Frederick Tompson and my father, Alan, was the third of their four sons. I wish I had have known this when I last visited Cornwall in 2001 and perhaps met some of the clan, especially to discover if Granny Tompson's strong spanish looks came from the Spanish Armada, Loraine.
