This website has been very helpful. I am researching WILLIAMS, BARKER, two different MARTIN families and a ROSKILLY family. My gt grandparents married 4 Jul 1878 at Wesleyan Chapel, St Keverne, their names were Sampson WILLIAMS (son of John and Elizabeth ROSKILLY formerly WILLIAMS nee MARTIN) and Amelia Ann BARKER (daughter of Francis BARKER, deceased and Ann BARKER nee MARTIN). Sampson and his older brother John travelled to New Zealand in 1884. Their wives sailed on the ship ARAWA in 1887. John's wife was Ann/Annie wih daughters Annie, Mary and Alice. Sampson's wife Amelia with children Hilda, my grandmother, John Francis (Frank), Lovdy and Martin. Elizabeth sister of John and Sampson to New Zealand in 1886/7 with husband William Edward ANGOVE & 2 children. Elizabeth ROSKILLY had 7 children with 2nd husband William James ROSKILLY and some of their grandchildren went to New Zealand. Contact sought with descendants of above families. Thanks Fay. |

What a great site, so useful in every way, spent 6 hours on it. Im doing a research for a lady friend of mine who's last in her particular line. The Surname is Lugg. Any info you could put my way would be everso welcome. Especially if it is regarding Harry Lugg born 21-8-1898. Once again, excellent site. |

I visited St Keverne in July 1976 and 1977. I met a wonderful family I think they were called the Cumpsteys? Margaret, Gordon, Janny and again I think the cottage they lived in was called "Trythance" does anyone know the whereabouts of this family today? |

My Father was Jack Harris ROWE and his forbears came from Cornwall. Various members of his family and other branches are puttng together a family history book for use by the current generations. The family originallly came from St Keverne it appears. It is very interesting to view the web pages relating to the area particularly at this time. Quite a few Cornishmen and women came to South Australia - very often working in the copper mines around Burra, Moonta and Kadina. My Father's immediate family settled in Two Wells which is a bit north of Adelaide. Thanks for sending early members of his family out to Australia! |
