Very interesting to learn more about my ancestors of not so long ago. I hope to visit someday to see where my family's life began. Thank you! |

What a wonderful website! On my mother's maternal side I am descended from John GLASSON and Mary nee TYACK of Sithney c.1845 and Edwin RULE and Jane nee HOCKING.On my father's paternal side I am descended from Thomas EUSTICE and Matilda nee GAY, daughter of Abraham GAY and Matilda nee PETERS who would appear seem to be the Matilda GAY mentioned in the "Robbing the Dead" article on your website. Thomas EUSTICE does not appear in any official records until his marriage in Dec.1867 at Helston, his father was a John EUSTICE. The 1871 census says Thomas was born in St.Keverne, an elderly relative said his mother was a Christina DUNSTON. My ex-wife is descended from a Sarah Roskilley ROGERS. To repeat, what a brilliant website! |

I`m writing a long essay for my A-levels in English and was looking for information on piracy in Cornwall and Devon. The articles from Canon Diggens offered some good help for me. Thank you... |

Good to know there are still a few Cheffers out there. It would be good to get a full family tree on the go to see where we all fit in. The article was an interesting read. |

This is the best genealogy website I have ever seen. It should be a blueprint for all other Cornish websites. Cousin Jack in sunny Florida |

Thanyou so much for all these easy to read records. Two of my great grandparents came from this area, and we have visited the delightful area a few times doing research. I was really enjoying Mr Lugg's stories, then was stunned when he said John Rashleigh was his grandfather. Further research, and he has a double entry in my Tree. In the Rashleighs and in the Williams. John James Rashleigh is a half brother to my great grandmother Eliza Kinsman, my grandfather's mother. My grandfather's father was William Williams b. 1840 to John Williams & Mary Hodge, and William's brother Joel married Grace Lugg. |
